Bette Carpenter is a household name in Houston’s inner-Loop, one synonymous with real estate excellence and expertise. Bette’s 25-plus years of uninterrupted success has placed her consistently in the Martha Turner Properties Circle of Excellence and earned her membership in the coveted Hall of Fame. Her real estate credentials include owner/broker of a high-end independent brokerage which she merged with Martha Turner Properties in 1991.
A specialist in selling Houston’s finest neighborhoods, Bette’s knowledge of her real estate markets and general wealth of information are unparalleled resources and constitute a definite advantage for her clients. Bette’s primary focus are the inner-Loop and close-in neighborhoods including the River Oaks area, Southampton, the Museum District, West University, Tanglewood, the Memorial Villages and near Memorial.
Bette’s commitment to her community makes her one of Houston’s outstanding (and busiest) leaders. Over many years, her associations have included board and leadership positions with St. Luke's United Methodist Church, Holly Hall Retirement Community, DePelchin Children's Center, Pi Beta Phi Alumnae Club, Houston Ballet Guild, Young Audiences of Houston, Houston Grand Opera Guild, and volunteer service for M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and Texas Children’s Hospital. In 2000, Pi Beta Phi Fraternity honored Bette for outstanding leadership with its International Award. Most recently, Bette is honored to have been elected to the executive board of the John McKnitt Alexander Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Bette is active in the River Oaks Blossom Garden Club and the Garden of the Season Club. She is a former teacher in Houston schools including River Oaks Elementary School, River Oaks Baptist School and the St. John’s School.
Bette holds an undergraduate degree from Southern Methodist University and a master’s degree from the University of Houston. She and her husband reside in River Oaks. Their daughter, Clare Leppert, a former attorney and a Realtor associate at Martha Turner Properties, is Bette’s working partner.
