Since 2000, I have been a member of the Houston Canine Frisbee Disc Club, a group of dog owners that love to play Frisbee with our canine athletics.  Besides competiting, we also perform  Frisbee trick shows with our dogs at many charity events every year.  You will typically find us at the Houston SPCA fun run downtown and the Pearland City fund raiser for their canine shelter every spring.  The Montgomery County SPCA "Mutt Strutt" in October in The Woodlands as well as promoting shelter adoption at the Reliant World Series of Dog Shows every July.  However, the biggest thrill is knowing that hundreds of dogs have been rescued out of shelters and are living long lives with families as they try a new sport as a family.  Many hours go into these activities, but the reward for keeping so many dogs out of the shelters is worth it.
