Real Estate and Texas Probate

This course is an introduction to issues related to real estate and Texas probate. As baby boomers are aging they are having to deal with the estates their parents are leaving behind as well as giving some thought to their own estate plans. This course will discuss how real estate and probate intersect. When can an agent list a property of a deceased person? Who has the authority to sign the listing contract and the purchase agreement? How may probate be avoided? What happens when a person dies without a will? May someone write their own will and is it advisable to do so? These and other questions will be addressed to give the Texas real estate license holder some idea of the probate process and how to interact with the lawyers, judges, executors, and administrators that may be involved.
